After learning color and personal color theory in Class 1, skin measurement and data analysis in Class 2, and fashion draping in Class 3, this session moved into another practical area of personal color coaching: beauty.
Using Makeup Kit, Lip Bar, and Brown Hair Color Kit, Phương Anh practiced finding colors that work for the client and applying the results to choices they can actually use in everyday life.
From Personal Color Analysis to Beauty
Knowing a client’s season or tone is only the starting point.
When clients receive a personal color analysis, they often want to know how the result relates to the makeup they use, the lip colors they already own, or a hair color they are considering.
In this class, Phương Anh learned how to take the personal color result further by comparing colors for makeup, lips, and hair directly with the client.
Makeup | Finding Colors for a Personal Makeup Palette
For makeup, different tones from the Makeup Color Kit are compared near the face to see which directions work well with the client’s personal coloring.
Once the suitable makeup colors have been identified, the result can be used as a reference when choosing makeup palettes and products.
This gives the client more specific color options to work with when selecting and using makeup in everyday life.
Lip Bar | Finding a Personal Lip Color
For lip color, COCORY uses the Lip Bar to identify the client’s personal lip color.
Different lip colors are compared near the face to find the colors that work well with the individual client.
The result can also be compared with actual lip products. This makes it possible to check whether lip products the client already owns work well with their Personal Lip Color, as well as to use the result as a reference when exploring other lip products.
*Because the same lip product can appear differently depending on a person’s natural lip color, the actual color payoff should always be considered. For a more accurate comparison, the natural lip color can be neutralized with concealer before applying the product.
Brown Hair Color | Finding a Personal Hair Color Direction
Hair color is another important part of the overall color impression around the face.
In this class, Phương Anh practiced using Brown Hair Color Kit to compare different brown color directions directly with the client.
Even within brown, subtle differences in color can change how the overall complexion and image appear.
By comparing these options near the face, the personal color result can be extended beyond fashion and makeup to provide a useful reference for hair color choices as well.
Making Personal Color More Practical
Class 4 was not simply about learning how to use three different types of tools.
Phương Anh practiced how to move from a personal color result to more specific choices for makeup, lip color, and hair:

For makeup & lip color, this also means being able to compare the results with products the client already uses.
The purpose is to make personal color results easier to apply to real choices, rather than leaving the client with only a season or tone name.
